This opening is in the Department of Entomology and Nematology at the University of California, Davis and invites applications for a qualified Junior Specialists in molecular biology.


The Junior Specialist will assist in troubleshooting and developing a real time PCR (qPCR) assay to detect pest species of nematodes. She/he will perform DNA extractions and qPCRs, as well as visual identification of nematodes and collect and summarize experimental data. The position involves field sampling for nematodes as well as plant measurements of nematode damage. A B.S. in a biology related field is required plus at least one year’s experience in molecular biology.

Bachelor’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences or a related field with a minimum of 1 year experience in molecular biology research.
