Banner Assistance

Jun 17, 2013 Cal Doval

At 7:15 a.m./12:15 p.m. start assembling banners and poles in the Southeast and Southwest hallways.  The banner poles should be delivered to the hallways by ARC staff.  If you are unable to locate the poles, please ask your team leader to radio Francesca.  The banners need to be assembled and on Hutchison Field by 8 a.m./1 p.m. for the student line-up.  Please note major groups are NOT in alphabetical order. Please make sure the lines are in the correct order as outlined on the main floor seating chart and major assignments.

<staff person TBD> will check with team leader to verify the number of banners we will have and make sure the appropriate number of banner boxes are set up on stage. Please note that the number of banner boxes needed for each ceremony will change.

Volunteers will need to help carry the banners outside and hold them until you can identify one student per major to carry their major banner.  Instruct them to hold the banner in an upright position so other candidates will see where to assemble.

Lines should start near the sidewalk and extend on the field away from the pavilion. Candidates need to be encouraged to assemble behind their major banner.

Banner Assistance inside the Pavilion

<staff person TBD> go to the front of the isles nearest the stage at 9 a.m./2 p.m. to be ready to meet the floor volunteers down the main isle and place the banners in the banner boxes on the side of the walls. Please note that the banners will come quickly so everyone will need to hustle to make sure the banners do not get backed up on the main floor.

During the processional, <staff person TBD> will meet the student banner carriers down the center aisle and deliver them to the side wall volunteers who will be at the edge of the sides walls. You will form an assembly line to get the banners to the volunteers on the side walls.  The volunteers on sides will place the banners in the banner boxes on side walls. Please note that the banners will come quickly in the afternoon ceremony so everyone will need to hustle to make sure the banners do not get backed up on the main floor.
