Undergraduate in Biotechnology

Nathan, a CA&ES Dean’s Circle Scholar from Fremont, CA, came to UC Davis from Ohlone College majoring in Biotechnology. He felt that UC Davis was great for students planning to go to graduate school with its emphasis on research and opportunities for undergraduates. Nathan is an officer in the Biotechnology club on campus, a position he describes as “personally rewarding.” His time in the club has helped him gain leadership experience and allowed him to help other biotechnology majors. He has also participated in a research internship that is helping to propel him toward his dream of working in the discovery and production of new drugs that can save lives around the world.

Nathan says, “The impact this scholarship has had on me is immense.” Not only has financial assistance helped to alleviate the burden of tuition costs, but the support from donors is motivating. “Simply knowing that there are people willing to support my education drives me to succeed in everything I do. As a student with a single mom and two sisters in college, I am incredibly grateful for your support.”
