Jason Dexter

Aug 20, 2013 Development Team
Undergraduate in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology

Jason, a CA&ES Dean’s Circle Scholar, came to UC Davis from Sacramento City College.  As a non-traditional student, Jason worked for several years before going back to school part-time at SCC to complete his prerequisite coursework. Jason has a passion for wildlife preservation and conservation and so declared wildlife, fish and conservation biology as his major. Recently, Jason took a position as a research assistant in the UC Davis Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory working on the endangered Delta smelt project. When Jason first received the Dean’s Circle Scholarship as an entering transfer student, he says, “I sat and wept with deep humility as I embraced the satisfaction that accompanied the realization of my academic progress.”
