“My mom always thought I’d be a great doctor. She ran a medical clinic in Beirut and pictured me helping people there. I was more interested in engineering, which is what I ended up pursuing. Still, the idea of a career that combined the two lurked in the back of my mind. It led me to biomedical and industrial engineering.
