UC Davis is one of the best decisions I have ever made.   With all of the options available to students—whether it is in research or clubs—the school has offered me multiple ways to become involved in the campus atmosphere while still furthering my education at one of the top schools in the country.   UC Davis has offered me the chance to explore my interest in animal science and veterinary medicine through interesting and challenging coursework coupled with hands-on labs.

Through these classes, I have realized that I am in the right major and look forward to continuing my education as I pursue veterinary school.  I have enjoyed all the classes I have taken so far, but one of the most interesting I took was History 17A—covering American history from the Revolutionary war to the Civil War.    The professor engaged students in the lecture making the material easy to understand and enjoyable to learn.

By far one of my favorite things about UC Davis is how approachable and helpful the faculty and staff are towards students.  As an incoming freshman last year, I had no idea what to expect.  I soon discovered that my favorite location on campus is the Memorial Union because it is so centrally located and offers food at the CoHo (Coffee House), shopping at the bookstore, or a nice afternoon on the quad.  For fun, my friends and I like to go catch a movie in town and follow it up with milk shakes at In ‘N’ Out.

The opportunities UC Davis offers for students are abundant, but one of the most important in my opinion is the Internships and Career Center (ICC).  Through the ICC, students can look into gaining workplace experience in areas that interest them; helping students gain perspective on shaping their future.   Other students should consider UC Davis because of the many opportunities available that will allow them to branch out, gain new interests, further their education, and look towards preparing for their future.

UC Davis is an invaluable experience in my life and I am thankful for the opportunities I have received and those yet to come my way.
